Exhibition Views 2018

November 9, 2018-March 24, 2019, Adamson-Eric Museum 
With this extraordinary exposition, and based on Adamson-Eric’s work, the museum is looking both back in time and then forward to the present day. The exhibition is focused on the concepts of tradition and innovation. Jewellery has been significant for millennia as property that can be bequeathed, as well as attributes of social status and power. Viewed over such a long period of time, we can see the traditions and skills of both the past and the present reflected in them.

June 15-October 28, 2018, Adamson-Eric Museum 
Gunnar Neeme (1918–2005) was one of the most remarkable Estonian artists and authors in Australia due to his exceptionally diverse artistic legacy, active primeval talent and limitless energy. In 2018, when we celebrate the centennial of the Republic of Estonia, one hundred years will also have passed since the birth of the artist Gunnar Neeme in Tartu. Although Neeme had a noteworthy 60-year-long career in faraway Australia, his name and oeuvre have remained in relative obscurity for Estonian art audiences.

The name Pallas is a familiar one in the cultural history of Estonia, but most of us lack deeper knowledge about it. Nevertheless, the society, born at the same time as the Republic of Estonia, played a vital role in the development of Estonian cultural thought and sensibilities.
