Description: | Short was the reign of Linda. Hardships of the widowhood broke the powerful woman and she slumbered to eternal sleep. Mourners decided to erect a lavish memorial to honor the first female ruler. Every sculptor of the realm was invited to participate in the competition. But, as it often happens in modern times as well, the poorest design was selected to build the memorial at Iru hill. Memorial has been preserved until today and it's artistic value is comparable to modern monuments. |
