| Description: | Ramp is a screen print that I first made in 2010 and have returned to many times, with photographs of different found ramps. It is a motif that interests me because of its simple shape and mono block of black which immediately led me to think of Malevich and his black square, but also Duchamp and the act of locating and elevating a common and everyday object into the realm of art. Ramp suggests a double act of brining the object of the ramp into the realm of art whilst at the same time letting the modernist black square fall to the ground. Andrea Büttner |
