Description: | Ülle Marks become renown among a wider public in 1992 when she earned the Grand Prix at the Tallinn IX Print Triennial. The works of the young artist suited perfectly the spirit of the revolutionary times. A grand and majestic thread of thought is a predominant feature in Ülle Marks' dry-point graphic art. To her nature, society and universe all involve the same graphically interpretable module. In 1994 Ülle Marks gained recognition in the exhibition “World Award Winners Gallery" in Katowice, Poland with her graphic sheets “Black Water" and “Hot Stone" (the latter was acquired by the Art Museum of Estonia in 1994). Ülle Marks' artwork also received success later on when she collaborated with Jüri Kass. Anne Untera |
