The diagrams on Visnap's graphic sheets “Communication" appear to be taken from a zoology textbook. They remind us of a table comparing the brain parameters of different living creatures. The existence of a brain indicates thinking and communication that takes place on a more elementary level among animals compared to human beings. An absurd moment occurs when creatures from two different species are juxtaposed in the chain of transmission, questioning the possibility of communication between them. Fish and chicken are not closely related to one another, despite the phonetic similarity of the words*, nor do they come into contact very often. First and foremost, Communication can be viewed as an illustration that renders puns visual. Elnara Taidre * In Estonian, the words fish and chicken (kala and kana, respectively) are phonetically similar.
