Description: | Toomas Mikk been devoting himself for years to creating temporal and spatial installations. In the early 1990s brass sculpture played an important role in his work. The obviously gendered features of the small sculpture “Female Object" bring a piece of furniture that is turned upside down, from the passive world of objects into the world of personified creatures. However, it might also raise a feminist discussion. In this piece of furniture, indecently exposing its genitals, we can see a somewhat malicious parallel with the traditional female nude that has for centuries been playing a passive role in art history.
