Aleksander Vardi was in Paris twice. He went there for the first time in 1925 for four years; the second time was in 1937. His views of Paris from his second period are very well known in art history. The abundance of shades of light and the nuances of colours are highlighted. “Paris was attractive due to its atmosphere already – slightly foggy, intimate, embracing…Impressionism couldn’t have been born anywhere else,” Vardi has said himself.
