| Description: | Silvi Liiva who belongs to the generation of female graphic artists from the 1960s started off working with the legendary Marju Mutsu, who was also her contemporary. She based her work on aesthetics and on a subjectivity bordering on escapism. The primary technique in Silvi Liiva's black and white works has always been classical etching. Its essential sensitivity and emotionality have been supplemented with drama and expressiveness. Poetic narration has given room for the expressiveness of the texture. Anne Untera |
